Company Asset Management ("JPMAM") provides investment management products and services to institutional and individual investors worldwide. It offers the full spectrum of investment strategies - from equity, cash management, fixed income, currency and asset allocation to alternative asset classes such as private equity, real estate and hedge funds.
The primary role of the internal investment-only defined contribution (IODC) wholesaling team is to close business and promote Company retirement funds to advisors who specialize in the sale of retirement plans to the mid and small plan segments. This includes positioning Company’s Retirement Link bundled DC offering to advisors to cultivate recordkeeping opportunities.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Selling Retirement Link full service retirement solution to advisors
Cultivating relationships and providing insights in DC plan design, participant behavior, investments, and the markets
Coordinating with a dedicated Retirement Business Director and Funds Management retail sales counterparts to ensure consistent sales strategy with advisors who focus on their wealth management practice but also manage some DC-related assets
Implementing the Company Asset Management sales process which includes, profiling, and uncovering sales opportunities and sharing best practices
Supporting external sales team by ensuring that desired content, capabilities, and tools are being shared in the territory as needed
2+ years financial sales experience, experience selling over the phone needed
Proven track record of success in selling Investment Management and/or Retirement plans and maintaining relationships
Proven success with multi-tasking and staying on top of priorities
Ability to learn and demonstrate industry and product knowledge by understanding the competition, the client and marketplace (technical expertise)
Capacity to build relationships across entire organization and with our partner firms (strength managing relationships)
Familiarity with financial markets, market terminology, capital markets history and economic indicators, along with equity, fixed income, international, emerging markets, currency and alternative asset classes.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to effectively leverage our global resources
Candidate must also demonstrate strong leadership abilities, including:
Ability to drive sales results
Focus and desire to increase and retain the firm's assets
Drive to exceed activity and manage multiple territory priorities
Ability to tell the "JPM story" clearly, concisely, and in a compelling way to create interest by utilizing the Company seven-step sales process
Ability to grow, develop and maintain working relationships with advisors
Proficiency in the use our customer relationship management (CRM) system
Effectiveness in presenting to financial advisors
Bachelor's degree required
Required prior to hiring or obtain: Series 7; Series 63 (or 66)
