This position is responsible for reporting activity necessitating a Currency Transaction Report (CTR), as required by the Bank Secrecy Act. BSA AML Analysts are responsible for reviewing transactional activity, account, and customers to identify reportable cash transactions, and to perform associated duties to facilitate identification and reporting. The Analyst’s work product impacts CFG’s regulatory and reputational standing; therefore, the results of their efforts must meet rigorous regulatory standards and be of high quality. The Analyst’s work product also mitigates the risk of CFG’s products and services being used by customers for money laundering and terrorist financing purposes.
Primary responsibilities include:
Maintaining a clear understanding of Bank Secrecy Act policies and procedures
Create and correct CTRs to provide complete and accurate information to the US Treasury
Ensure that CTRs meet all regulatory requirements and are completed within the required regulatory timeframe
Demonstrate a sound understanding of BSA/AML regulations, and the ability to apply that knowledge to the analysis/review of customers and activity in order to identify and report CTRs
Organize and prioritize work tasks to ensure that a large volume of work is completed in a risk based and efficient manner
Maintaining quality and productivity targets
Awareness of, and pro-active identification of, problems and potential risks within business line
Ability to pull and assess daily reporting
Ability to identify and escalate potentially suspicious activity
Able to identify process improvements to more efficiently manage responsibilities
1 + years banking experience within retail or operations, basic knowledge of banking and bank system’s
1 + years knowledge of AML, basic understanding of AML procedures within banking
Knowledge of AML regulations and industry best practices
Strong research skills
Willingness and ability to learn: internal and external rules governing the compliance area
Ability to achieve both immediate and short term goals with appropriate supervision, ensure smooth work flow and meet operational deadlines
Good written and verbal skills
Good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to interact with a diversity of professionals and staff members
Ability to navigate through numerous applications quickly, while having multiple windows open.
Excellent Microsoft Word and Excel skills along with general proficiency in adapting to new software applications
Ability to provide high quality service to all business units across CFG and adhere to Quality Standards and Corporate Values
Education, Certifications and/or Other Professional Credentials:
Bachelor Degree preferred
AML certification preferred
Hours & Work Schedule
Hours per Week: 40
Work Schedule: M-F 8-5
Overtime may be required
