Work Location: Silver Spring, MD
Company is seeking an Administrative Assistant / Office Manager with an understanding of personnel management operations for a full-time position supporting the Department of Defense (DoD) in Silver Spring, MD. This is an on-site position that will work as part of a diverse team of mental health professionals, Human Resource professionals, and Executive leaders; and will be expected to gain in-depth knowledge of the Defense Health program and services offered.
This position will support a variety of general administrative, clerical, operations, and personnel processing support duties, including, but not limited to:
Meeting scheduling and resource coordination
Facilitating the production and execution of certain DoD personnel processing activities
Document production and management
Preparing correspondence, reports or other documents by gathering information from multiple sources
Coordinating and managing staff calendars using MS Outlook
Maintaining various filing systems, including computer records of various activities
Coordinating with other administrative/operations support staff and DoD divisions within the parent organization to gather information for deliverables.
Bachelor's degree in Management, Communications, Human Resources, Business Administration or related field
3+ years of relevant work experience
Demonstrated experience performing general administrative and clerical duties in an office setting.
Hands-on experience with MS Office suite.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to work as part of a diverse team of mental health professionals, Human Resource Professionals, and Executive Leadership Team.
Strong verbal and written communication skills as evidenced in the writing of policies, business justifications (business case), SOPs, etc.
Ability to work independently, yet maintain close communication and collaboration with federal leaders who are responsible for executing various mental health programs, initiatives, efforts, activities.
Proactive, detail-oriented, independent, and fast learner with excellent problem solving skills with ability to analyze situations, identify existing or potential problems, and recommend solutions.
Experience writing personnel action plans, job descriptions, and other Human Resources related documents is a plus.
DoD experience is beneficial, with HR processes and operations a definite plus
Working knowledge of cultures, people, and communication styles across the range of services in the DoD.
