With varying degrees of supervision, develops, implements, and operates reporting and analytical activities within assigned functions. This role will also support the effective processing and accumulation of financial data and its timely presentation to operating management.
Develops, implements, and conducts projects and analysis, as assigned, to improve accuracy and reporting related to Project Accounting and Fixed Assets subject matter.
Develops and maintains relationships with key partners throughout the Company enterprise including:
Supports existing fiscal month end operations and responsibilities as assigned for both Project Accounting and Fixed Assets.
Assures that month end tasks are processed in a timely and compliant manner and management is provided with appropriate information to support operating decisions.
Assists in review of account reconciliations including research and analysis on reconciling items.
Assists teams in data investigation, reporting, and analysis as needed including recommendations for Process Improvement.
Supports and maintains existing departmental operations and assists in training, as assigned.
Works with manager to evaluate operational performance of department to ensure accuracy and compliance, measuring against desired results, updating control points and reporting as necessary
Provides guidance and process assistance as needed in development or to resolve unanticipated problems
Supports departmental and center-wide initiatives and goals, including:
◦ Support and maintain environment of constant improvement using Lean/Six Sigma tools
◦ Ensure proper cross-training is maintained
◦ Prepare documentation required to support new, modified, and existing operations, projects, and programs
Core Competencies & Accomplishments:
Analytical and conceptual skills
Familiarity with Data Mining tools and Process Improvement Tools preferred.
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Demonstrated focus on process improvement
Strong understanding of accounting practices
Experience in analytical thinking, problem solving, leadership and process improvements.
Ability to work independently without supervision and shifting and dynamic responsibilities.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting related field preferred or equivalent business experience of progressively responsible general accounting, and analytical experience with exposure to multiple aspects of these functions.
