The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for daily responsibilities to the Accounts Payable supporting the entire organization.
Essential Job Functions:
Prioritizes payments requests based types, vendors, amounts, etc.
Charges expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports; recording entries.
Pays vendors by monitoring discount opportunities; verifying federal id numbers; scheduling and preparing checks, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation; insuring credit is received for outstanding memos; issuing stop-payments or purchase order amendments.
Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:
Certificate level education or one (1) to five (5) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
