Kate Spade & Company takes great pride in our ability to attract, recruit, and develop world-class talent. Our annual summer internship program, comprised of rising sophomores, juniors and seniors, exemplifies our commitment to developing upcoming talent. It also provides an opportunity for our leadership team to identify and develop key internal talent for corporate opportunities across multiple functional areas. This experience can be leveraged to benefit both personal and professional growth.
The internship program is intended to be educational, inspirational, and purposeful. All interns are mentored by an employee who is associate level or above in order to ensure a quality level of learning for our interns and exposure to supervisory experience for our associates. At the end of the program interns should have a significant list of accomplishments to add to their resume and set them apart from other candidates in their field. Historically, our interns have benefitted from a program that is educational for both parties: for the interns to gain experience that makes them real-world ready, and for Kate Spade & Company to gain relevant feedback on our program, our product, and our processes.
Our summer internship program places a strong emphasis on corporate culture. We impart our dedication to community service to our intern population and we expect our interns to play an active role in our philanthropic programs in return. Throughout the ten week program, interns will work side by side with their manager on both short and long term projects that all tie back to the larger strategic goals of the company and the individual department. The curriculum around the program includes a weekly speaker series that provides the interns the chance to learn how our business and departmental relationships function and also to network with top-level management and executives. Intern groups will also spend time in our brands’ retail environment: kate spade new york. At the culmination of the summer, the interns are tasked to share their summer-long project in a five minute presentation to the executive team.
Kate Spade & Company is confident that its internship program provides its participants a strong foundation for entry-level candidates in the fashion industry. We look forward to seeing your submission to the program.
